Gorjuss 'Mini' Art Journal 2018 ~ February ~ and let it fly away

Hello crafty friends, I am back with the February layout for my 'Mini' Art Journal 2018. I will be working in my DIY watercolor art journal. I have a tutorial for you if you want to make one yourself. Check it out  HERE For this layout I decided to use No.57 'Little Heart' Gorjuss Mini stamp by Santoro. This is her stamped out with Jet Black Archival Ink. And this is her coloured up using my Koi Sakura Watercolors. I wanted her to be holding an element so I decided to die-cut this bunch of balloons. I also wanted her to have a little side-kick and how cute is THIS little guy! Here he is coloured in :) For the background, I chose this beautiful art napkin that reminds me of Tuscany. The field of yellow is exactly what I was after.  I did layer this with more gesso and some yellow acrylic paint. I did feel like I needed to mute down the background as it was not allowing my foregro

The BiG Aussie Craft Challenge ~ TN Memory Keeping ~ Happy Australia Day 2018

Hi everyone, Happy Australia Day! My family and I went hiking last weekend and I snapped THIS gorgeous photo which is just perfect for the BiG Aussie Challenge over at Aunty Vera Scrap and Craft this Australia Day Weekend. Two perfect items that are a MUST for this layout come straight out of the Aunty Vera Scrap and Craft January 2018 Kit . This Tim Holtz stencil really did do justice to my plain mustard yellow pattern paper with its exploration and traveler themed words- it is, funny enough, titled Traveler . The other beautiful is this Kaisercraft 'Open Road' stamp set! Featuring many native flora that I just have to feature really quickly here: Golden Wattle-  Acacia pycnantha Summer Beauty-  Corymbia ficifolia King Protea-  Protea cynaroides I also played around with stamping them out in Jet Black archival ink and Ranger Cool Graphite ink. The black makes it stand out while the grey gives it a p

TN Memory Keeping Layout ~ Epic

Hi everyone, I'm back today with my next layout in my TN memory Keeping Series. I am working in my DIY TN Inserts. If you are interested in making one yourself, check out my  tutorial   Today is an ode to my Fitbit Adventures :) In this layout I use mainly scrap patterned paper and layer with a acetate and washi tape. And pepper my white space with a whole lot of stickers and puffy hearts & stars. The puffy 'epic' expresses my emotions for my picture. Here is my whole layout :) To listen to the story behind my picture and to watch me make this layout, check out my process video  HERE Do you have a Fitbit? Whats your daily goal and how often do you smash it? Let me know in the comments below. I love hearing from you. xxAmira

TN Memory Keeping Layout - Sleep less, dream more

Hi everyone, Just a short one from me today. Here is another TN layout I made - about me this time. I am working in my DIY TN Inserts. If you are interested in making one yourself, check out my tutorial  HERE    I titled it 'sleep less, dream more' because it fits my sleeping habits perfectly! I have a hard time switching off my brain because of all the things I need to do. I also LOVE this 4" x 6" journaling that I picked up in my last haul video. Isn't she full of confidence!! Love her! If you are interested in the journaling cards & die-cuts I used in this layout check it out HERE   (I may have some kits still available).  I also love the quote on this other journaling card. Be Happy. It drives. People. Crazy. All topped up with a yellow pineapple and yellow roller skates. How fun and random is that!! Here is the whole layout. Thank you for stopping by. You

Art Journal Swap - Not every house is a home

Hi everyone, So happy to be bringing you the first layout in my new collaboration with my fellow design team member Suzanne Johnston . Suzanne and I are doing a collaboration this year where we are working in an art journal for as long as it takes to fill it and then sending each other the finished journal at the end. We are sending each other an envelope full of die-cuts and inspirational items as prompts for layouts. The art journal that I am working in is one I made myself and if you are interesting in making one, please check out my DIY tutorial HERE . From the prompts, I selected the clippings of musical paper which I reconfigured as houses. From there, I went onto Design Seeds and picked out this color palette. I then gathered all my acrylic paints and supplies ... and started mixing. I think I got pretty close to the correct colors :) Next it was time to decide on the colors for the background and this is what I w
